Description

Elaborar e implantar os Planos de Segurança da Água (PSA) dos Sistemas de Abastecimento de Água (SAAs) localizados em 08 (oito) municípios do Estado da Paraíba, visando à adequação metodológica e promoção de ações estruturantes relacionadas ao saneamento e/ou a saúde ambiental.
 

Os municípios selecionados são: 

  • Alagoinha
  • Alcantil
  • Curral de Cima
  • Itapororoca
  • Pedra Branca
  • Riachão do Poço
  • Santa Cecília
  • São Domingos

Todos têm população estimada variando de 3.119 a 18.978 habitantes e são abastecidos por diversas fontes hídricas: poços, poços mais deslizadores, riachos, carro-pipa e açudes.

Intersectoral aspects

The health departments of the municipalities involved in the implementation of the PSA have a partnership with the laboratories listed below:
Laboratory of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering (LARHENA, acronym in Portuguese)
Laboratory of Chromatography and Applied Chemometrics (LACQUA, acronym in Portuguese)
Topography and Geoprocessing Laboratory (LabTGeo, acronym in Portuguese) 
Laboratory of Soil Geology and Mineralogy (LGMS, acronym in Portuguese)

Duration

18 months

Implementation Strategy

Goal 1. Initial phase of the PSA: ordinance for the appointment of the university's technical team.
Goal 2. Preparation phase of the PSA: composition and training of the municipal technical team to monitor the development of the PSA.
Goal 3. Evaluation phase of the water supply system: evaluation of the system, hazards/hazardous events and risks and control measures.
Goal 4. Operational monitoring phase: planning of control measures
Goal 5. Operational monitoring phase: documents to verify the effectiveness of the PSA
Goal 6. Management and communication phase: preparation of routine, emergency and contingency plans, and communication
Goal 7. Management and communication phase: presentation and final training of the team of the Collective Alternative Water Supply System or Solution for the implementation of the PSA.

Diffusion strategies

Awareness-raising and training workshops;
Delivery of didactic, digital and physical material;
Records of activities in reports.

Monitoring strategies

The work plan provides for two exclusive goals for monitoring:
- Goal 4. Operational monitoring phase: planning of control measures; 
- Goal 5. Operational monitoring phase: documents to verify the effectiveness of the PSA

Financing mechanisms

Decentralized Execution Term (TED) between the Brazilian Health Foundation and the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB, acronym in Portuguese).
